“Nine years of web work at MSU Texas — four redesigns, a CMS migration, and training staff to own and manage their own content.”
When I joined MSU Texas in 2012, my first major project was modernizing the university's website. At the time, the site was built from a static image file sliced into an HTML table — a rigid setup that made every update a manual, time-consuming process handled entirely by our office.
I started by converting the existing design mockup into clean, semantic HTML and migrating the site into Percussion CMS. Three years later, we transitioned the platform again — this time to Cascade CMS — giving content editors across the university greater flexibility and control.
Over my nine years at MSU Texas, I redesigned the website four times, each iteration reflecting the university's evolving brand and the growing expectations of modern web standards. Alongside the development work, I trained faculty and staff to manage and update their own areas of the site, reducing bottlenecks and empowering departments to keep their content current.
